The Town of Victoria Park, the City of Canning and the City of Belmont are combining their efforts and hosting a FREE information session on Thursday 23 March featuring the 8 steps to starting a business from the Small Business Development Corporation.
You’ll also get to hear the personal story from Grace Mugabe, originally from Zimbabwe who has set up a successful financial empowerment consultancy in Perth, Financially Empowered.
Grace was born to a Zimbabwean father and a South African mother. Raised in Zimbabwe and in the United States and has spent a significant amount of time in South African, she made the great trek down under as a teenager and has called Australia home for well more than a decade.
Grace, who considers herself a global citizen, is an experienced CPA Accountant and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is passionate about the economic empowerment of women. Following her recent tenure as a Senior Site Accountant at Rio Tinto, she developed a boutique consultancy with the aim of providing financial literacy tools for entrepreneurs. Her consultancy continues to attract government, schools, private industry and community clients.
Stephen Battaglia from the Australian Tax Office will also be speaking about the free education and assistance services that the ATO provides to small businesses across Australia.
This event takes place on Thursday 23 March from 5pm to 7pm at the Function Room at the City of Canning – 1317 Albany Highway, Cannington.
