UNEARTH PERTH – The Sorrento Beach Shack at Hillarys Boat Harbour
I had been wanting to go here for ages as it looks so quirky and was always busy when we went past, and we finally got round to trying it out recently.
It is a great cafe style restaurant – you order your food at the counter and help yourself to condiments etc. so it’s a pretty casual affair. It looks tiny but there is another huge area inside at the back with really large tables – great if you are a big group, especially with kids are there is a well-stocked kids play area as well. They also have a huge pile of board games by the till for you to pass your time while you wait for your food.
We had a milkshake and a smoothie for drinks and they were both fantastic! The food is pretty standard fayre so don’t expect a gastro-style experience and you will be pleased.
The kids fish and chips was a decent size portion, as were the adult meals – we had the chicken burger and the fisherman’s basket. I was only disappointed my basket was actually a plate.
Kids meals are $10 and you can add a drink and ice cream for $4.50. Adult meals are $14-$30 so quite well priced. They also have great specials in the week, like steak and chips, parmi and chips etc. for $15.
You can get 25% off with your Entertainment book but I don’t think this applies to the weekly specials.
From Friday 20 March they are also offering free craft sessions for kids when dining at the Beach Shack – this means peace and quiet for parents while the kids have some fun! You do need to book your child’s spot but it is completely free. A great draw card for families.
It’s a lovely spot with great views so well worth a visit for even the fussiest of eaters!
