After an extremely successful 2015 Boktown Perth, (despite the score!), Boktown Perth is back for 2016! South Africa are playing Australia in Brisbane on 10 September but in Perth you can watch the big match at The Game Sports Bar in Northbridge, where Boktown Perth will be taking over for one night only. I spoke to organisers Dean & Lloyd Hildebrand about what this year’s event has in store for its attendees.
They are expecting around 1500 supporters to attend the event and last year tickets sold out a few days before the event and they become like gold dust – everyone wanted one and no-one could find any!
Just like last year, there will be a whole host of South African food, drinks and treats to buy on the day. The food vendors are going to be announced shortly and I can tell you that there will be a fabulous selection of your favourite eats like boerie rolls, biltong and much more. The drinks from Copper & Oak will include Castle Lager, Windhoek, Savanna, Castle Light, Cane & Creme Soda, Fanta Grape and Springbok shots!
While kick off is at 6pm, the doors will open at 1pm so you have plenty of time to arrive and get into the Springbok spirit. There will also be a ‘Fan Of The Match’ prize giveaway so come dressed to impress and you may just win a fab prize too!
After the match, whatever the result, DJ Armand and Mike De Wet will take you into the night with some classic Saffa tunes so no need to head straight off once the final whistle has blown.
This year, tickets are $15 and include a free drink, but if you get in early and book soon, the Early Bok (early bird) tickets are only $10 per person – what a bargain! Kids are also welcome at Boktown Perth but should be under responsible parental supervision at all times. Under 18s are $10 and get a free soft drink. Under 5s are free but no free drink for them.
Did you go to last year’s event? What did you think? Hope to see you there this year!
*Disclosure: I received free tickets to this event but was not financially compensated. All opinions are my own.
