South African comedian Masood Boomgaard is heading to Australia this month! The Durban funny man will be doing shows in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as part of his second Outta Africa comedy tour.
Masood is regarded as one of the brightest stars in South African comedy and will be showing off his unique, witty take on a wide range of topics from politics and medical aid schemes (that’s health insurance to us these days!) to relationships, overbearing parents, and everything else in between.
“Having recently ended a successful round of shows in South Africa, I am super excited to be heading back to Australia where I am looking forward to connecting with my comedy lovers. Of course Asutralia is a home away from home for many South Africans so that’s another reason why this tour is so special.”
“In my shows I’ll be poking fun at everything under the sun. The audience can expect to hear about credit card debt, how to deal with traffic jams, those pesky call centre agents and a topic all women love to hear (and men cringe at) overbearing mothers.”
Outta Africa has something for everyone and offers a combination of rapid fire one liners and more elaborate story-styled jokes. Masood is celebrating his 10th year in comedy in 2017 and says “It’s a milestone for me and I plan to give Australia the very best of me. I’m going to make sure these shows are as memorable for the audience as they are going to be for me.”
Masood’s Perth show is on Monday 20 November and will be help at the Beasley Theatre on Roberts Road in Subiaco.
