Do you want to start a new life Australia?

Do you dream of a new life Down Under but are confused about where to start?

Do you want to start a new life in Australia but feel unsure if it’s the right decision for you and your family?

Do you wonder what life in Australia is really like?

Then you’ve come to the right place.

I aim to share valuable information about moving to Australia, settling into your new life, and exploring your exciting new surroundings.

Having emigrated three times myself, I know the entire spectrum of emotions you are going through before, during and after you make the move.

What Will You Get From Me?

You’ll get practical advice about the many different aspects of migrating, such as the visa process, shipping and travel arrangements.

I also write about the emotional side of moving countries and how to cope with the challenges of starting life all over again.

Because half the fun of moving countries is exploring your new home, I also share awesome places to go, fun things to do and exciting events to check out.

While I am based in Perth, much of the information I share can be applicable no matter where you in Australia you are heading, or indeed where in the world you are from.

Don’t forget to check out my shop with all sorts of products to get you started on your migration journey, like the cost of living in Australia calculator.

Who Am I?

I’m Reeva Cutting and I lived in South Africa until I finished my degree in 2003 at UCT. I migrated to England, married my English husband, and had a gorgeous little boy, but after 8 years I just could not take the cold anymore! I took a look at where we could live that was warm – and settled on Perth, Australia!

After a long two year migration journey, we arrived in Perth in 2013 and have not looked back since.

How It Started

I set up a Facebook group called Proudly South African in Perth & WA in December 2013 after getting increasingly frustrated with all the drama on the existing Facebook groups for South Africans in Australia. It grew quickly (I had 400 people join in the first 2 hours!) and attracted many members who clearly felt the same way as I did.

Within 2 years, we had reached 3000 members and so I decided to take the next step and set up a blog where I could share my knowledge and experiences with not just members of the group, but anyone interested in moving to or living in Australia. Soon we’ll be hitting that magic 10,000 member mark!

The Facebook page has also grown organically to over 10,000 followers and more than 2,000 people get my email newsletter each month, packed with the latest visa and migration news.
